Unknown. Maybe. There are several things that we do not know or understand. How and why the shock is one of them. Somebody is trying desperately. It worked.
Be warned. It always works. Here too, no one knows why it works, if it works. They are happy when they do.
See if you can make things worse.
There is no cure for schizophrenia. Family must take medication for the rest of their lives. Personally I would not recommend that all Electro Shock Therapy. I think it is barbaric and can not believe that is still used.
This is possible because the doctors found that patients with epilepsy were less depressed after a stroke. Shock therapy occurred in one experiment, the electrical disturbance that occurs during a seizure again.
However, there is no way to power, part of the brain, it leads to control. It is known that some people with depression by certain memories to help. However, since it can not be controlled, some people suffer from amnesia and memory loss much of their lives. I can only say that I have never seen this procedure in a million years. No, this is a mental illness, schizophrenia and electroshock therapy, not a cure.
Certainly not cure schizophrenia, and their efficacy in the treatment of schizophrenia is questionable. Electroconvulsive therapy is mainly used to treat depression.
